I’m most often described as intelligent, witty, big-hearted, dependable, spontaneous, creative, thoughtful, talkative, interesting and insightful. I’ve also been
called ‘effervescent’ and ‘sparkly’, which I think are really nice adjectives. I’m also unflaggingly honest – even when it requires risking myself. It’s part of my
midwestern earnestness that I’m happy won’t fade. Basically, I’m a straight-arrow guy with a bohemian heart.
I have eclectic interests. I enjoy serious conversations about modern culture, public policy, foreign affairs, etc. but can quickly swing from the academic to the silly. My
conversations with friends can go from covering the merits of the European Currency Unit to Britney’s latest cat suit within a few minutes. I also avidly follow sports (especially college athletics). If the Nebraska Cornhusker football team is playing, you can count on me to be nervously watching the game while flipping through something completely contrary like ‘Wallpaper’ or ‘InStyle’.
I sing in the shower and sometimes on the sidewalk. I dance around the apartment. I don’t litter. I help women with strollers down the subway stairs. I have a spring in my step. I pet dogs I see waiting sadly outside of restaurants. If I were a super-hero, I would use my powers for good and not evil (ok, but I would x-ray vision through people’s clothes). I laugh often and loudly. I volunteer. I can be pointedly sarcastic and ironic, but am not afraid to actually believe in people and dreams.
